Hey guys,
Tomorrow is the big night: Le Freak Boutique Bash at Infusion Lounge in San Francisco. I think I finally figured out that I want to be one of the Mad Men women. I love those vintage dresses, now I just have to figure out my hairdo. Tomorrow night there’s a $1000 costume contest so make sure you dress up your wildest and craziest and maybe the cool prize can be yours. Tyra Banks is doing a Halloween special tomorrow on her talkshow and is planning on dressing as three celebreality stars including Kim Kardashian and Kate Gosselin. Look at her rocking out the two below.

So Taylor Swift is so awesome and has been nominated for six (count ‘em SIX!) American Music Awards including Artist of the Year. She’s got some competition between Lady Gaga and Kings of Leon, however. Ms. Swift finally announced a Bay Area date, oh how I wish April 11 was sooner! So since she’s so super duper popular you might have heard her other tour dates sold out in two minutes. Well, if you’re not lucky enough to score a pair by buying them, Alice has your back. Listen all this weekend for your chance to text and win a pair of tickets to the show. Make your daughter or best friend happy when you score some of the most coveted tickets. I totally hope the rumors of her and Taylor Lautner dating are true because 2 Taylors are totally cute.

Peace,
Intern Kelly

Hey Guys,
So I guess it makes sense with holiday season coming up that musicians are releasing some new treats for our eyes and ears. A slew of bands including Kings of Leon, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Snow Patrol, Jack Johnson, and Jason Mraz are releasing (or re-releasing) material in time for the holidays. Here’s a rundown.
This week:
Taylor Swift’s release of Fearless. The new version includes six new songs including a duet with Colbie Caillat and a DVD of videos from her singles. This album is huge!

Jack Johnson released a DVD of his concerts in Europe. The DVD appropriately entitled En Concert came out on Tuesday and features a DVD, a CD and a 60-page booklet of photos from the European tour.

November 10:
Kings of Leon-Live at the 02 London. The DVD will feature a June performance from London’s 02 Theater and has 22 tracks on it.

Jason Mraz’s Beautiful Mess-Live from Earth (CD/DVD). Features a performance in Chicago from the Cafe Gratitude Tour in August 2009.
November 17:
Snow Patrol-Up to Now Best of CD. If you’re down to throw a couple bucks at the band, they have a very special limited edition of the best of box set including two CDs, two DVDs, three LPs. Otherwise the CD will span the bands discography and include singles like “Chasing Cars” and “Take Back the City.”

November 23:
Lady Gaga will be releasing her 2008 album The Fame Monster and making it into a deluxe edition. If you’re willing to put up $100 you could even get a lock of her hair in the deluxe edition.

Hopefully someone loves me enough to gift me one these products.
Keep listening this week to win guest list spots to our Le Freak Boutique Bash at Infusion Lounge. There’s gonna be an awesome $1000 costume contest. Anyone wanna be a carebear with me?

By the way, be careful out there on the roads today. That Bay Bridge closure has Bay Area bridges all out of whack, so just make sure to plan ahead.
Peace,
Intern Kelly

Hey Everybody!
Halloween is just around the corner and in honor of the wicked holiday, we’re throwing the LeFreak Boutique Bash this Friday at Infusion Lounge. Marcus is hosting and It is invite only, so listen to the 4 play at 4 p.m. until Friday to get your name on the list. There will be a crazy costume contest and if you’re the winner you could score a cool $1000. So if you’re running out of ideas for costumes try some of the following celebrity-inspired looks:

I personally wish I could be Lady Gaga. Speaking of the fashion-forward songstress, the re-release of her album, the Fame Monster, will feature a very limited edition version that gets some crazy goodies for her fans, including a lock of her hair. Miss Gaga is never short of inspired ideas when it comes to the celebracrazy. Anyway, the limited edition version also includes a pretty fancy art book, a puzzle, posters, and various other prizes. All the awesomeness is yours for a mere $100!

As Breast Cancer Awareness month continues, Miner, My favorite winery in the entire world, is hosting a Breast Cancer Benefit tasting at The Press Club in San Francisco www.pressclubsf.com). On Monday, October 26th there will be a meeting at City Hall in Room 263 at 1 p.m. where we can all pledge our support for San Francisco’s Nightlife. I know when I was a teenager I just wanted to see my favorite bands perform. I hope that the city will be able to carry the rich tradition of live music that so many people cherish.
So older sisters of the world, please please don’t pull a Lohan and allow your 15-year old sisters to party with you. Allegedly, Lindsay Lohan thinks it’s totally ok for her little sis, Ali, to party with her, citing that her sister “has a good head on her shoulders.” Yeah, well that head won’t stay that way if she’s out drinking underaged with her hardpartying sister. Plus, her sister needs all the luck she can get at this point in terms of looking her age. Ali already looks a washed up 30 year old, we do not need her to prematurely age from partying any more than she already has.

Have a wonderful weekend, keep it safe.
Peace,
Intern Kelly

Hey Alice Listeners,
The weather is pretty crazy out there, everyone be careful. Already the Chronicle has reported 200 traffic incidents as well as 18,000 were without power in some parts of the Bay. I’d recommend not driving unless necessary. Statewide road information is available at 1-800-427-7623. Also, for any power outage news, go here. There’s definitely high gusty winds out there expected to possibly hit 75 MPH, so be careful. Here’s some gossip to keep you warm:

The American Music Award nominations were announced today. Taylor Swift definitely made the most nominations with six in total. In an interesting twist here, Swift, Beyonce and Lady Gaga were nominated for the Best Female in Pop/Rock category. I say interesting because of their connections to the VMA’s Swiftgate debacle. Kanye interrupted Swift to praise Beyonce and then cancelled his tour with Lady Gaga after the backlash. I kinda want Kanye to be in attendance at the words, despite not having been nominated, only because the kinds of hijinks that would occur would be great television. Artist of the year nominees: Michael Jackson, Kings of Leon, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and Eminem. The awards show will broadcast on ABC on November 22.

Keep warm Alice listeners, I want you to stay safe.
Peace,
Intern Kelly

Hey Alice Listeners,
Thanks to everyone who showed up to last night’s inaugural Bosom Ball to support the Keep a Breast Foundation and UCSF’s Art for Recovery. With your awesome donations we were able to raise a lot for the foundations. Ingrid Michaelson was there as well and she played a set that featured her singles “The Way I am” and “Maybe” as well as a medley of covers that included Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby,” and the theme songs for Fresh Prince of Bel Aire and Full House. She was fun to watch and I’m jealous of all you lucky listeners who have tickets to her sold out show tonight at the Great American Music Hall. Thanks Ingrid Michaelson for being so awesome last night. Here’s some pictures from last night, including a shot of Marcus D., Ingrid and friends making something called the “Marcus D. face.” I don’t really get it but I am still new.

So the Twitterverse certainly made some interesting news this week. First, Frances Bean Cobain, daughter of superfamed late musician Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, went on a twitterant against Ali Lohan, feel teen and sister of Lindsay. Though the post was generally full of grammatical errors (like mother like daughter, eh?), she railed against the younger Lohan saying that she should not ride the waves of fame her sister has produced, especially considering that 16-year old Ali hasn’t really done much but look far older than her years. After the rant, Ms. Frances Bean deleted her Twitter. I say go Frances, even though her name is famous, she seems down to earth and pretty smart. Also in Twitter news, Miley Cyrus deleted her account, too! Even though I think the move is pretty smart, her dad apparently believes his daughter must re-activate her account. “Miley. You are a light in a world of darkness. You were born ‘Destiny Hope Cyrus’ for a reason,” her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, tweeted Thursday night. “You can’t leave everyone now. We r countin on u.” Oh, Twitter.

So in honor of the Simpson’s 20th Anniversary season starting next January, Marge Simpson is baring all for the November issue of Playboy. Here is the cover in all it’s glory.

Hopefully you’ve been listening this afternoon when we debuted a new song by musician Diane Birch. The singer has a very soulful vibe. Though she was born in the states, Ms. Birch lived in Zimbabwe with her parents as well as South Africa and Australia, creating a very worldy approach to her music. Currently she’s on tour and her album is Bible Belt. Most likely you will here much more from her!

Fleet week is this week in San Francisco, the Blue Angels will be playing every afternoon at 3 p.m. and there will be a fireworks display on Saturday at Pier 3. Other activities in San Francisco will be taking place, check out all the details here.
Have an awesome week, love you guys!
Peace,
Intern Kelly
