I fall in love with You Tube just about every night of the week. 

There is always one spark of a thought of a video I should watch that turns into an epic journey of video searches.  Last night, while the wife was watching One Tree Hill on the TiVo, I popped the headphones in and came across old Men At Work videos.  “Cargo” was the first tape(yes, I said tape) that I ever bought.  I knew I was different, you just can’t listen to Men At Work AND live in Salinas without some kind of social ostrization.

Earth day is officially 4/22 but all the festivities are this weekend.  Weather is going to be bananas…highs in the 80’s.  I can’t think of a better time to channel your inner earth pig and help save the world.  here is a list of the Earth Day events going on around the Bay Area.  I think you and a tree should “hug it out.” Enjoy! A woman checking out the Berlin Zoo decides she is going to jump in and holler at the Polar Bears…WTF? Really?  Darwin says they should have let her find her own way out…check out the video.

So…apparently this has been a yearly thing for the last 8 years or so.  Full grown adults racing Bigwheels down one of the most crooked street in the City, Vermont Street in Protreo Hill.  It has one less curve but is far steeper than it’s famed sister Lombard Street.  It’s called the BYOB (Bring Your Own Bigwheel) festival and it’s gnarly.  Check out all the photos on my Facebook here.

Paula Dean’s loaded mashed potatoes(complete with bacon, cheese, sour cream and chives…heaven)

Sauteed broccoli

 I thought I was nervous cooking for the wife’s fam.  I can only imagine what it might be like to cook for the most powerful leaders in the world.  My hero Jamie Oliver did just that at the G-20 summit.  Check out the pics and menu
